In order to reduce energy costs sustainably and increase eco-efficiency, companies must make their energy consumption visible and identify potential savings. Efficient energy monitoring forms the basis for successful energy management. However, a lack of transparency on the shop floor prevents a comprehensive overview of the energy consumption of machines and devices. An IoT solution such as the modular IIoT platform toii® can counteract this. With the energy monitoring module toii®.Energy, you continuously carry out relevant energy measurements and always keep an eye on the energy consumption in your company. The data obtained in this way can also be used in the context of a mandatory energy audit and form the basis of successful energy management in accordance with ISO 50001.
Connection of measuring devices with Ethernet connection via Modbus interface
Flexibly configurable groups for different types of machines and devices
SQL and Excel export in order to process data in various reporting tools
Alarm function for notifications when threshold values are exceeded
Recording consumption of individual orders and products through integration of production planning (ERP interface)
Energy monitoring as a part of energy management according to ISO 50001
Via a Modbus interface to measuring devices with Ethernet connection, you record and collect data on the energy consumption of your machines and systems. The read-out measuring devices provide concrete information on the current power consumption of the respective machines at intervals. The consumption measured in this way also makes it possible to determine the development of consumption over longer periods of time. Through the connection to the production planning from the ERP system with the toii®.Integrator module, the electricity consumption can also be subsequently assigned to the individual customer orders and products.
The collected data is then interpreted and visualised in diagrams on the web-based user interface of toii®.Energy. Here you can view the consumption of all machines and also divide and combine the individual devices into flexibly configurable machine groups. Using SQL export, it is also possible to integrate the data into various reporting tools and process it there accordingly. Alternatively, the data can be output in tabular form via an Excel export as well. If the power consumption of your machines and systems exceeds a previously defined threshold value, toii®.Energy can further issue a notification as part of an alarm function. In this way, you can immediately recognise consumption peaks as soon as they occur.
Recording and analyzing energy-consuming systems and devices is crucial for the implementation of a successful energy management system (EnMS) in accordance with ISO 50001. The data recorded with toii®.Energy on the energy consumption of machines and systems can be used by small and medium-sized companies, for example, as part of a mandatory energy audit in accordance with DIN16247-1. For example, current energy consumption can be compared with historical data in order to identify peak loads and evaluate potential savings.
